G.Gage headshot (darker)Gabriella Gage is a journalist and writer from Somerville, Mass. She is a 2019 James Merrill House Fellow and a graduate of Harvard and McGill Universities.

Her writing and reporting have been featured by Boston Globe Magazine, Boston Magazine, Humanities magazine, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Boston Globe, Ploughshares, The Sunday Long Read, Harvard Magazine, The Globe and Mail, Newsweek, Longreads, Longform, Truly*Adventurous, Politico.com, MuckRock, and Elle Decor Italia. She is the former editor-in-chief of Scout Magazines. In 2022, she coauthored “The Kapikill Files,” a four-part, longform FOIA series on MuckRock based on a decade-long investigation into an unsolved diplomatic murder in 1982.

A 2018-2019 fellow at the Writers’ Room of Boston, Gabriella has received grants from Vermont Studio Center, the Somerville Arts Council (2021 and 2014), and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study’s Carol K. Pforzheimer FellowshipShe was named a finalist for the 2024 Edith Wharton Residency and for the 2018-2019 Oxford American Jeff Baskin Fellowship.

As a research specialist and expert fact-checker, she has contributed to The Boston Globe, The Sunday Long Read, Harvard Public Health Magazine, and other publications. Her original research and historical consulting expertise have been utilized in multiple MIT and Harvard University publications, mainstream works of nonfiction, films, academic texts, documentary shorts, best-selling novels, and Greta Gerwig’s 2019 film “Little Women.”
